Sydney St is a good place for neighbours, especially after crazy tennis ball throwing lady moved out from next door. The other week we were just sitting around the house quietly on a Saturday evening and a random lady came to the door. Turns out it was our neighbour Dee who we hadn't met before, inviting us to a housewarming party she was having later that night. We actually ended up stopping by for a bit and they were lovely! She is studying Fine Arts at the moment and her partner Graham is just finishing up everything he needs to be a practicing lawyer. She was previously married for 24 years and when they split up she decided to do something she had always wanted to do! Very awesomely cool. In her spare time, she has a part-time job as a life drawing instructor for bachelorette parties. Seriously?? How hilarious is that? I really like them.
Today we met some across the street neighbours, Phil and Rica. He offered us the use of his lawnmower (recent rain caused some crazy sudden growth) and we chatted for awhile. Turns out he's from Brisbane but just recently moved back after living in Portland, Oregon for 18 years. He said to Jeremy: "Have you figured out where to get any good IPA around here yet?" which totally had us stumped. IPA...what could that possibly be? Well, as a matter of fact it stands for India Pale Ale and was quite amusing because Jeremy was wearing an Alexander Keith's t-shirt. Oops. Acronyms.
So it's funny - we now know most of the neighbours on our street...well, at least the cool end of the street. Sydney St is kind of an S shape so we really just count our loop of the S...the other people aren't important! Hahaha.
part-time job as a life drawing instructor for bachelorette parties????
